Pride Marches
Twice a year, EQ gets all rainbow-ed up and celebrates LGBTQ inclusion loudly and proudly! There is one march on the Sunday of the Canada Day long weekend every year - Toronto Pride - and another march at McMaster during MacPride Week in November. This is a great event for LGBTQ folks and allies alike as it is a great way to meet new people, and show your open support for the community as a whole.
Munch n' Mingle
For those who prefer a more relaxed environment, we host a couple of low-key events. Examples of these are board game nights, movie nights and what we call "Munch n' Mingle". The goal of these events is to introduce LGTBQ and allied students to one another - in order to create sustained relationships and simply have a fun time! We try to host these events about once a month.
Pride Pub Nights
Social nights are a must in any community. Engineering Societies host a lot of 19+ events, but rarely do we get to see one at an LGBTQ bar! Hence, Pride Pub. We've gone to Embassy in downtown Hamilton twice, and the Marquis of Granby in Toronto with Ryerson's EngOUT and UofT's LGBTQase. These events are a great way to blow off steam, and the Drag shows are always absolutely fabulous!
