About Us
What we do
The McMaster EngiQueers (EQ) is a student-run 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy and inclusion group. EQ provides a fun and safe social space for 2SLGBTQIA+ engineering students and provides resources and education opportunities for allies and all members of the
engineering community. We are
committed to promoting a safer, and
inclusive space within engineering.
In June of 2013, 5 McMaster Engineering students attended the Toronto Pride parade as spectators. They adorned the school colours, and were excited to be representing Mac Eng at such a large event.

As they were watching the parade, they were startled and excited to see 3 engineering universities march proudly in the parade!

This sparked an investigation into the concept of a 2SLGBTQIA+ engineering club - and within the year EngiQueers was founded.
Our founder, Vanessa Raponi, created the club in 2013 which later inspired the creation of EngiQueers Canada, an organization which encompasses other queer engineering clubs across the country.
