OOBS Conference
In September every year, EQ attends the
Out on Bay Street national conference. This is a professional LGBTQ conference that brings together companies that are passionate about diversity & inclusion. The programming is tailored to both professionalism and LGBTQ developement. Anyone is able to attend, and we highly encourage it!
Diversity in Eng Night
In 2015 EQ helped coordinate the innaugural Diversity in Engineering night. Pairing up with the Women in Engineering Society and the National Society of Black Engineers - the team brought 5 professionals from all different facets of engineering to be on the panel. The Associate Dean of Engineering and the President of the McMaster Engineering Society gave speeches.
LTQ - Workplace
Through the OOBS conference primarily, EQ makes professional contacts. One such one is the Accenture. This past year, during MacPride week hosted by the QSCC, EQ hosted Accenture during the Let's Talk Queer series co-organized by SHEC, QSCC and EQ. This presentation discussed everything from how to guage a company in an interview to once you're there!
